Senior Manager – Credit Risk (Omanization)

About the role

The Senior Manager – Credit Risk will lead the assessment and approval process for corporate and retail credit facilities, ensuring compliance with QNB’s credit risk strategy and regulatory standards such as Basel II. The role supports the SVP of Risk in defining KPIs and drives continuous improvement in credit risk practices.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate individual credit proposals for corporate and retail customers, focusing on exposures that fall outside standard policy parameters.
• Verify adherence to QNB’s credit risk policies, procedures and Basel II guidelines.
• Assist the SVP of Risk in creating and monitoring departmental Key Performance Indicators.
• Delegate authority to staff, oversee delegated decisions and ensure compliance.
• Promote cost‑consciousness, efficiency and productivity across the credit risk function.
• Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in credit risk management.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional certifications such as PRM, CPA or CFA are advantageous.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in credit risk, preferably within a banking environment.
• Strong understanding of credit risk frameworks, Basel II and regulatory requirements.
