Project Manager - Trade Finance & Liquidity Management (Banking)

About the role

The Project Manager will lead and manage end‑to‑end projects in Trade Finance and Liquidity Management for a banking client. This role combines strong project‑management methodology expertise with deep knowledge of banking operations, financial products and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cross‑functional teams—including business analysts, IT developers, operations, legal and compliance—to deliver Trade Finance and Liquidity Management solutions.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, resource allocations and risk‑management strategies.
• Oversee execution of all project phases, ensuring adherence to the bank’s methodology (Waterfall, Agile or Hybrid).
• Act as primary communication point, providing status updates, escalating issues and managing senior‑level stakeholder expectations.
• Apply domain expertise in Trade Finance instruments and Liquidity/Cash Management systems to ensure solutions are compliant with regulations such as Basel III and AML/KYC.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, manage change requests and track financial performance against budgets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 12+ years of progressive project‑management experience, with significant banking or financial‑services exposure.
• 5+ years of direct experience managing Trade Finance and/or Liquidity/Cash Management projects.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, and Agile/Scrum credentials are highly desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Project for planning and scheduling.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence for issue tracking and collaboration.
