Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing daily shift operations of the housekeeping department, as well as the recreation/health club and laundry services where applicable. Reporting to senior hotel management, the role ensures guest rooms, public areas and employee zones are clean, well‑maintained, and meet brand standards while supporting guest and employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily housekeeping, recreation/health club, and laundry shift activities, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Inspect guest rooms and public spaces daily, communicate room status to the Front Desk, and assign work based on occupancy and checkout schedules.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, verify adequate stock, and ensure staff have necessary equipment and uniforms.
• Manage the department budget, monitor expenses, and strive to meet or exceed financial targets.
• Train new room attendants, schedule staff according to business demand, and oversee performance, recognition, and disciplinary actions.
• Address guest complaints promptly, develop corrective action plans, and promote a culture of continuous service improvement.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least two years of experience in housekeeping or a related field, or a two‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities, with a focus on guest satisfaction, staff development, and adherence to operational standards.
