Industry Business Manager

About the role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Industry Business Manager will lead the Industrial business unit, ensuring compliance with SGS quality systems while driving revenue growth and long‑term profitability. The role combines strategic business development with operational oversight to deliver sustainable market leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the industrial business strategy aligned with regional and corporate objectives.
• Identify emerging market opportunities through market intelligence, competitive analysis and industry trend assessment.
• Define short‑ and long‑term business plans, including portfolio expansion, new service development and strategic partnerships.
• Own financial and operational performance, monitor KPIs and provide insights to senior leadership.
• Build and maintain executive‑level customer relationships to drive satisfaction, retention and revenue growth.
• Optimize operational efficiency, resource allocation and service delivery models.
• Lead, develop and inspire high‑performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Champion safety, ethics, quality and compliance across all activities.
• Represent the industrial business internally and externally to strengthen SGS market presence.

Required profile

• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience managing large‑scale operations.
• Proven track record of driving business growth, operational excellence and P&L responsibility.
• Strong commercial acumen with a growth‑oriented mindset.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with customers, partners, regulators and senior executives.
