Instrument Engineer – On‑site Contract in Ibri

About the role

Best Oil & Gas Solution LLC (BOGS) is seeking an experienced Instrument Engineer for a contract position on‑site in Ibri, Oman. You will be responsible for the planning, installation, calibration and maintenance of instrumentation systems supporting oil and gas process facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret P&IDs, data sheets and instrument layouts.
• Prepare material take‑offs and provide technical input during design, construction, commissioning and operation.
• Troubleshoot instrument and control issues and coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams.
• Develop test procedures, inspection reports and documentation for quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
• Optimize system performance to minimise downtime and ensure safety standards are met.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on instrumentation experience in oil & gas or related heavy‑process industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as they relate to instrumentation and control systems.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards such as IEC and ISA, including hazardous‑area classification.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and English communication skills.

Required skills

• Instrumentation – selection, specification, installation and maintenance of field instruments.
• Calibration and Metrology practices, including use of test equipment.
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) configuration and basic logic integration.
• Electrical Engineering principles applied to control systems.
• Knowledge of IEC and ISA standards.
