Islamic Banking Analyst

About the role

The Central Bank of Oman is looking for an enthusiastic Omani professional to support the Regulatory Framework Development Department in maintaining a sound and compliant Islamic banking sector.

Key responsibilities

• Execute licensing, regulatory and supervisory functions under the Banking Law and Islamic Banking Regulations, including branch and ATM approvals.
• Prepare regulatory circulars and manage correspondence with government institutions.
• Assist in developing policies and regulations for licensed Islamic banking entities.
• Draft and issue communications, directives, and circulars to licensed institutions.
• Coordinate with multilateral institutions such as IFSB, AAOIFI, IDB, and IMF.
• Review product approvals and Sukuk issuances from Shari’a and regulatory perspectives.
• Consolidate reports from Islamic banking entities and present compliance assessments to senior management.
• Support administrative and governance tasks for the HSSA, including agenda preparation and meeting minutes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, commerce or a professional qualification in Islamic banking.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in banking, finance or related fields with exposure to Islamic finance.
• Strong analytical abilities and a commitment to regulatory compliance.
