IT Lecturer – Cybersecurity Specialization

About the role

The IT Lecturer (E‑Security Specialization) will join the Vocational Training Centre in Muscat to deliver high‑quality teaching, curriculum planning and research in cybersecurity. The role also includes advising students, invigilating examinations and contributing to departmental workshops and academic committees.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lectures, labs and tutorials for bachelor and master level cybersecurity courses.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials and assessment tools.
• Evaluate student performance, provide feedback and guide academic progress.
• Invigilate examinations and ensure academic integrity.
• Participate in faculty meetings, academic committees and departmental workshops.
• Contribute to the scholarship and intellectual life of the centre through research and professional development.

Required profile

• Minimum Master’s degree in a relevant field with a specialization matching the bachelor’s program.
• At least five years of teaching experience at a reputable college or university after obtaining the Master’s degree.
• Proven experience teaching cybersecurity or related subjects at bachelor or master level.
• Ability to engage and mentor students and collaborate with academic staff.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of information security principles and practices.
