IT Operations Officer

About the role

We are establishing a new financial markets infrastructure venture in Oman and need an IT Operations Officer to build and own the corporate IT environment from the ground up. This role focuses on end‑user devices, productivity systems, identity management, first‑line support, and corporate cybersecurity hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Procure, configure, and manage the lifecycle of laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices while maintaining an accurate asset register.
• Administer the productivity suite (M365 or equivalent), including mailboxes, file storage, collaboration tools, and licensing.
• Handle identity and access management: account provisioning, role‑based access, multi‑factor authentication, and joiner‑mover‑leaver processes.
• Provide first‑line IT support, triage incidents, resolve issues, and coordinate escalation with the outsourced managed service provider.
• Apply cybersecurity policies to corporate systems, covering email security, endpoint protection, patching, and security awareness training.
• Manage corporate IT vendor relationships, service contracts, and maintain the IT contract register.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in IT operations, administration, or end‑user computing.
• Proven experience administering M365 or a comparable productivity suite.
• Working knowledge of identity management, mobile device management, and endpoint security.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, etc.) and familiarity with NIST or ISO 27001 frameworks are advantageous.
