Lead Engineer Mechanical Static

About the role

The Lead Engineer Mechanical Static will provide reliable, cost‑effective mechanical statics engineering solutions for OQ’s refinery assets in Muscat. Reporting to the MAF Team Lead, you will act as the primary interface between MAF engineering and the Mechanical (Statics) discipline, ensuring that equipment such as pumps, control valves, compressors and bulk‑handling units meet design criteria and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop engineering packages and solutions for MOCs, projects, bad‑actor resolution and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Execute tests and measure parameters specific to mechanical statics equipment across MAF assets.
• Conduct inspections of mechanical statics materials before installation on site.
• Implement continuous‑improvement practices for mechanical statics equipment and services.
• Support the TL and Lead Engineer in key mechanical statics initiatives to maximise plant availability while maintaining functional safety.
• Liaise with the TSD Mechanical (Statics) team to align practices, ensure compliance with design criteria, codes, standards and OQ Design Engineering Specifications.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering mechanical statics engineering solutions for refinery or similar process‑industry assets.
• Ability to develop detailed engineering packages for change management, projects and reliability programmes.
• Experience conducting tests, inspections and continuous‑improvement activities on mechanical equipment.
• Strong understanding of applicable codes, standards and OQ engineering specifications.
