Lead Geologist – Subsurface Development

About the role

The Lead Geologist will provide robust technical support for geology within OQ's integrated subsurface team. This role drives high‑quality geological analysis, interpretation and 3D static modelling to advance both operated and non‑operated assets across diverse reservoirs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead geological analysis and interpretation, delivering 3D static models for development projects.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, trainees and multidisciplinary teams.
• Represent OQ as the lead geoscientist in partner interface meetings and Technical Committee Meetings.
• Execute predefined geological elements of development projects and present findings at peer and functional reviews.
• Formulate realistic subsurface realizations, incorporating uncertainties and risks into exploration and development plans.
• Coordinate special studies, update subsurface interpretations and supply data inputs to other disciplines.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering geological analysis and interpretation for oil and gas assets.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior staff and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong judgement in applying advanced geoscience knowledge to varied reservoir, fluid and maturity scenarios.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring safety and reliability.
