Lead Pipeline Designer

About the role

Wood is seeking a Lead Pipeline Designer to join its Omani team, delivering FEED and detailed design for onshore oil and gas projects. The role focuses on both brownfield and greenfield opportunities, ensuring high‑quality pipeline design deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Develop pipeline design drawings and documentation in line with project scopes.
• Collaborate closely with pipeline engineers, designers and other discipline engineers to produce engineering and construction deliverables.
• Implement hand‑marked changes, maintain drawing templates and ensure compliance with ISO 9001‑2015 and API Q2 standards.
• Provide quality assurance reviews, monitor drawing progress and meet project schedules.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time and cost.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of oil & gas piping design experience, including at least 3 years using ACAD/3D PDMS.
• At least 5 years of Front End Engineering Design (FEED) experience.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Pipeline design and drawing preparation.
• AutoCAD (ACAD) and 3D PDMS design systems.
• Front End Engineering Design (FEED) processes.
• Quality management standards: ISO 9001‑2015 and API Q2.
