Maintenance Engineer - Property & Facilities

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer manages and supervises maintenance across the Group's residential, commercial and other properties, keeping buildings, facilities and building systems safe, operational and cost-effective. The post reports to the Project Manager / Management and covers preventive maintenance planning, coordination of teams and contractors, cost control and timely resolution of maintenance issues.

Key responsibilities

• Develop preventive and corrective maintenance plans, inspect buildings regularly and maintain a maintenance schedule
• Supervise civil, electrical, plumbing and HVAC works, check completed work and recommend permanent fixes
• Manage caretakers, technicians and support staff, prepare schedules and monitor productivity
• Evaluate quotations, coordinate contractors, verify completed work and record quotations, work orders and expenses
• Maintain a property register, prepare condition reports and inspect vacant and occupied units
• Follow up tenant and occupant requests and monitor outstanding ones
• Prepare annual maintenance budgets, monitor spending and control material and outsourced costs
• Ensure safe working practices, report hazards, coordinate fire safety inspections and keep safety records

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering
• 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management or property maintenance
• Experience managing maintenance teams and external contractors
• Good communication, organisational, problem-solving and team-management skills
• Valid Oman driving licence is an advantage

Required skills

• Knowledge of building systems, maintenance planning, cost control and technical reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance reporting tools
