Marine Technical Services Manager

About the role

The Marine Technical Services Manager will be the principal technical resource for vessel maintenance, repair and troubleshooting across our fleet. Reporting to the General Manager, the role involves hands‑on assessment of vessel machinery, coordination of specialist teams and ensuring high‑quality service delivery at sea and in workshops.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect vessels, diagnose technical problems and recommend practical repair solutions.
• Provide technical support for main and auxiliary engines, diesel generators, governors, pumps, compressors, hydraulic, pneumatic, cooling, fuel, lubrication and seawater systems.
• Oversee deck machinery, winches, steering gear and other vessel mechanical systems.
• Prepare detailed scopes of work, material lists and manpower estimates for quotations.
• Supervise technicians, subcontractors and service teams on board and at workshops.
• Coordinate emergency and breakdown repairs, ensuring safety and HSE compliance.
• Inspect completed work, verify quality and hand over to vessel crew.
• Liaise with Chief Engineers, Masters, Technical Superintendents and client representatives.
• Identify spare‑part requirements and support sourcing and technical evaluation.
• Maintain service reports, inspection records and contribute to development of new marine repair capabilities.

Required profile

• Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Chief Engineer or senior Marine Engineer experience highly desirable.
• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience with vessel machinery and marine systems.
• Proven ability to assess problems on board, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and supervise work to completion.
