Mechanical Maintenance Trainee

About the role

Wärtsilä is looking for a motivated Mechanical Maintenance Trainee to join its plant in the Tibat Area, Musandam Region. This entry‑level position is designed for fresh graduates or diploma holders in Mechanical Engineering who want to develop hands‑on technical skills in plant operations and maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Gain knowledge of plant operations and maintenance while following all prescribed procedures.
• Support and coordinate operational activities during shift work.
• Monitor equipment condition, alarms, and parameters, and assist with trend analysis.
• Participate in corrective actions during operational disturbances and help with root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain operation and maintenance logs, checklists, and assist in preparing reports.
• Assist with planned and corrective maintenance tasks as directed by supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with Wärtsilä and customer safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
• Support administrative activities and cooperate with the Administration and Safety departments when required.
• Follow emergency preparedness procedures and maintain good housekeeping of plant equipment.

Required profile

• Fresh graduate or diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering.
• Motivated, enthusiastic and eager to develop technical skills.
• Willingness to work shift duties and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members and supervisors.

Required skills

• Fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
• Understanding of plant equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
