About the role
A leading integrated steel producer in the GCC is seeking an experienced Mechanical Shift In‑Charge for its Green Steel / Low‑Carbon Steel DRI project in Duqm, Oman. The role focuses on mechanical operations, maintenance, commissioning and start‑up of the DRI plant.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise all mechanical activities during assigned shifts.
- Lead commissioning, maintenance and start‑up tasks for the DRI plant.
- Perform troubleshooting and technical problem‑solving on mechanical systems.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
Required profile
- Strong mechanical experience in DRI plant operations.
- Experience with MIDREX or HYL ENERGIRON technologies (preferred).
- Background in plant operations, mechanical maintenance, commissioning and start‑up.
- Ability to supervise and guide mechanical teams during shifts.
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (preferred).
