Merger & Acquisition New Ventures Commercial Manager

About the role

The Merger & Acquisition New Ventures Commercial Manager will support OQEP’s growth by identifying, screening, and evaluating upstream oil and gas opportunities that align with the company’s strategic objectives. This role provides commercial and business development analysis for new ventures both in Oman and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement business development strategies and performance frameworks.
• Identify, screen, evaluate, and structure M&A, farm‑ins/farm‑outs, asset entry, greenfield/brownfield projects, and divestments.
• Lead end‑to‑end transaction processes, including sourcing, valuation, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and execution.
• Prepare investment cases, FID papers, CIMs, teasers, and management presentations.
• Participate in licensing rounds, bidding processes, and negotiate commercial agreements such as PSAs, concessions, and JOAs.
• Support commercial due diligence, risk identification, and mitigation planning.
• Maintain the opportunity pipeline, report on transaction progress, and ensure compliance with governance and approval processes.
• Represent OQEP in business development and partner engagements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in upstream oil and gas M&A or related commercial roles.
• Strong analytical and financial evaluation capabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with strategy, finance, legal, and technical teams.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with Omani regulatory environment and international best practices.
