NOC Server Monitoring Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated NOC Server Monitoring Specialist to join our team in Muscat. The role focuses on ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of our server infrastructure through proactive monitoring and rapid incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor server performance and availability using tools such as Nagios and Zabbix.
• Respond to alerts, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate incidents when needed.
• Document incidents and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Collaborate with IT teams to resolve server issues and implement preventive measures.
• Conduct regular health checks, performance tuning, and on‑call support for critical systems.
• Assist in developing NOC processes, procedures, and training junior staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in NOC operations with a focus on server monitoring.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and handle on‑call rotations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix or similar).
• Experience with incident management and ticketing systems.
• Solid knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems.
• Understanding of networking concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualization.
• Scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Azure Administrator).
