Operations Analyst – Financial Markets

About the role

Join a new financial markets venture in Oman, building its operations from the ground up. You will support day‑to‑day settlement and operational activities across multiple asset classes, currencies and time zones, working on a rotating shift pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor settlement instructions, processing dashboards and matching queues during your shift.
• Investigate settlement failures, confirm cash and securities movements with banks and custodians, and resolve exceptions.
• Support corporate actions, repo and collateral management, and participant account services.
• Maintain accurate exception logs, incident records and provide comprehensive shift handovers.
• Participate in user acceptance testing, business continuity exercises and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field.
• At least three years’ experience in securities operations, settlement or custody.
• Hands‑on experience in multi‑currency, multi‑asset environments with time‑critical settlement deadlines.
• Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern covering Sunday‑to‑Friday operating hours.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain clear audit trails.

Required skills

• Practical experience with securities settlement and delivery‑versus‑payment (DvP) processes.
• Knowledge of SWIFT MT5xx and ISO 20022 settlement messaging.
• Familiarity with corporate actions processing, repo settlement and collateral management.
• Ability to use operational dashboards and processing queues to monitor activity and investigate issues.
