Plumber

About the role

JW Marriott is hiring a full-time, non-management plumber for its property in Madinat Al Irfan, Airport Heights, Muscat, Oman. The role covers minor plumbing repairs, pipe installation and maintenance, and follows company safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Fix minor plumbing problems such as unclogging drains
• Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, and measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to the required angle
• Fill pipes or fixtures with water or air to detect and locate leaks
• Review blueprints, building codes and specifications, study building plans and inspect structures to plan installations
• Install and maintain pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances and fixtures, and perform minor repairs
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment
• Follow company and safety policies, report hazards and accidents, complete safety training and certifications, and keep proprietary information confidential
• Move and lift objects up to 75 pounds independently and assist with heavier loads, and stand, sit or walk for long periods

Required profile

• Stationary Engineer/Boiler Operator license
• Plumber certification
• Preferred: technical, trade or vocational school degree
• Preferred: at least 2 years of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required
