Principal, Process Technology

About the role

SGS is seeking a Principal, Process Technology to lead and elevate all process‑technology activities across its global operations. The role combines strategic technical leadership with hands‑on engineering to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance of industrial plants.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process technology and engineering initiatives across operations, maintenance, and capital projects.
• Provide technical leadership for process engineering, plant optimisation, and complex troubleshooting.
• Support plant expansions, modifications, commissioning and start‑up activities.
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations and technical deliverables.
• Conduct and lead HAZOP, SIL assessments and other process safety studies.
• Drive Advanced Process Control (APC) projects to improve stability and efficiency.
• Monitor performance, recommend reliability improvements and support feasibility studies.
• Act as subject‑matter expert, mentor junior engineers and promote digitalisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Chemical, Energy or similar industries.
• Minimum 5 years of technical engineering experience in an industrial processing environment.
• Proven track record in process safety, plant optimisation and major project support.
