Real Estate Finance Manager

About the role

The Real Estate Finance Manager leads and manages the finance function of the Real Estate segment, ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial information. The role oversees financial operations, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition, cash flow monitoring and financial controls, and acts as a key business partner to the Real Estate leadership team. It also leads and develops the segment's finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day financial management and accounting, prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements and management reports, and reconcile accounts receivable in line with IFRS 15
• Prepare, consolidate and review the annual budget and forecasts; monitor performance against them and provide financial analysis on revenue, margins, costs and profitability
• Manage cash flow and working capital, coordinate with Sales and Collections, and monitor customer deposits, reserves and refunds
• Maintain financial controls, reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensure compliance with Group policies and statutory requirements, and work with Group Finance, Internal Audit and external auditors
• Lead and develop the finance team, set objectives, coach and build its technical and professional capabilities
• Partner with Sales, Development, Projects, Collections and Group Finance, advise on commercial proposals and evaluate new projects from a financial perspective

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; ACCA, CPA, CMA or equivalent is an advantage
• 8-12 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property development, hospitality or other project-based businesses
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and working capital management
• Previous experience managing or supervising a finance team
• Experience in a multi-departmental business and working with senior management

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and revenue recognition under IFRS 15
• Good understanding of ERP systems; experience with Oracle, SAP or Sun Systems is an advantage
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Ability to build financial models and analyse financial data
