Finance & Accounting Specialist

About the role

DEME Group is looking for a Finance & Accounting Specialist in an international environment, based in its office in Duqm, Oman. The role covers accounts payable, cash management, month-end closing, tax compliance, reporting and audit support, working closely with colleagues, vendors, banks, tax experts, auditors and international entities.

Key responsibilities

• Process and post supplier invoices with timely approvals and accurate records
• Manage vendor and intercompany communications and act as a point of contact for financial queries
• Monitor vendor balances, reconcile accounts and follow up on outstanding items
• Run weekly payments and prepare payment files through the financial systems
• Record bank transactions, monitor cash positions and contribute to working capital reporting
• Support month-end and year-end closing, including accruals, prepayments, revaluations and journal entries
• Review balance sheet accounts, general ledger transactions, budgets and closing schedules
• Prepare tax filings such as VAT, withholding tax and corporate income tax support
• Collaborate with stakeholders, tax specialists, banks and international colleagues
• Provide financial information and documentation to internal and external auditors

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Comfortable working in an international environment with stakeholders from different cultures
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Analytical, accurate, structured, proactive and able to take ownership
• Willingness to work on-site in Duqm in a team environment

• Experience with ERP systems and financial software is an asset
