Resident Engineer / Clerk of Works – Salalah, Oman

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer / Clerk of Works to act as the client’s permanent on‑site representative for a live data centre construction project in Salalah. This hands‑on role focuses on site leadership, contractor control and practical delivery rather than detailed data centre design.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor contractor performance against programme, milestones and look‑ahead schedules, challenging delays and weak recovery plans.
• Check construction against approved drawings, specifications and documentation across civil, structural, mechanical and electrical disciplines.
• Oversee QA/QC, inspections, testing and non‑conformances, ensuring high construction quality.
• Maintain strong HSE oversight on site and lead/attend site meetings, providing clear progress, risk and issue reporting.
• Support commissioning, completion and handover activities and resolve day‑to‑day site issues independently.

Required profile

• Significant construction, site or project management experience, preferably as a Resident Engineer, Clerk of Works, Construction Manager or senior client‑side representative.
• Proven ability to manage and challenge main contractors, with strong programme monitoring and reporting capability.
• Practical knowledge of construction quality, HSE and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Current Oman residency or existing legal right to work in Oman and ability to mobilise quickly.
