About the role

Knowledge Gate International School (KGIS) in Muscat, Oman, is an international school offering a British-style education from Kindergarten to Sixth Form, with a curriculum combining an international British education and Omani curriculum pathways. It is a member of COBIS and BSME and accredited by BSO. Inspired Education is inviting expressions of interest from Science Teachers to join the school in August 2027; the ideal candidate has experience teaching at least one science subject up to A level.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire and challenge all students, following the school's curriculum, policies and external assessment requirements, and individualise and differentiate learning.
• Assess students' in-class and at-home learning regularly and give targeted feedback to drive progress.
• Create a classroom and school environment where students feel valued, supported and ready to take risks in their learning.
• Work closely with colleagues, share best practice and pursue your own professional development.
• Take part in the school's co-curricular programme, from leading clubs to contributing to wider school initiatives.
• Maintain open, constructive communication with parents and build strong partnerships around each child's progress.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for education and the ability to engage and motivate young people.
• Proven track record of excellence in personal, academic and professional areas.
• In-depth subject expertise and the ability to inspire students and support outstanding progress.
• Experience assessing student progress, giving targeted feedback and supporting performance in external assessments.
• Experience in pastoral care and promoting student wellbeing, with a focus on individual attention and high welfare standards.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with colleagues and independently and to build positive relationships with families.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills, able to plan and prioritise a varied workload, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• PGCE, QTS or equivalent, with excellent academic credentials and, ideally, evidence of post-graduate study.
