Senior Control & Automation Engineer

About the role

Wood is seeking a Senior Control & Automation Engineer to join its Projects team in Muscat, Oman. You will lead instrument and automation engineering activities for the NGLE project, covering both FEED and detailed design phases, and support related mechanical engineering tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Execute instrument and automation engineering processes for the NGLE project under the TL scope.
• Develop and deliver FEED and EPC design packages, ensuring technical quality, budget, and schedule compliance.
• Lead detailed design of control and instrumentation systems, integrating with mechanical engineering deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise engineering strategies and resolve technical issues.
• Support commissioning, start‑up and operational phases in the downstream petrochemical environment.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in instrument and automation engineering within the oil & gas or downstream petrochemical sector.
• Proven track record in FEED and EPC design phases for on‑shore projects.
• Strong understanding of control system architecture, safety instrumented systems, and integration with mechanical engineering.
• Ability to work onsite in Muscat for a one‑year assignment.
