Senior Integration Engineer

About the role

A technical team in Muscat, Oman is looking for a Senior Integration Engineer. The role covers enterprise application integration, API development and middleware technologies, preferably WSO2 Micro Integrator. It is a senior position where you design, develop, implement and troubleshoot complex integration solutions and guide a team of junior engineers. The arrangement is full-time and on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and maintain enterprise integration solutions using middleware and integration platforms, preferably WSO2 Micro Integrator
• Develop and manage APIs, integration services and data transformation workflows, connecting internal applications, third-party systems, databases and enterprise platforms
• Work with RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, XML and JSON, and troubleshoot complex integration issues
• Mentor junior engineers, lead technical discussions, solution design reviews and code reviews, and collaborate with technical leads, architects, developers and project teams
• Translate requirements into integration designs, write technical and API documentation, and implement error handling, logging, monitoring and exception management
• Run integration testing, debugging and performance optimization, support production deployments and resolve integration incidents
• Coordinate integration dependencies and give technical input during project planning, estimation and implementation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
• 10+ years of professional experience in software development, enterprise integration, middleware or related technical roles, with substantial hands-on integration experience
• Proven experience designing, developing, implementing and supporting enterprise integration solutions
• Ability to independently manage complex technical assignments and support junior engineers
• Willingness and ability to work full-time on-site in Muscat, Oman

Required skills

• API development, REST/SOAP services, XML, JSON and integration patterns
• Enterprise middleware or integration platforms; preferred: WSO2 Micro Integrator, WSO2 API Manager, MuleSoft, Apache Camel
• SQL databases, data mapping and transformation
• Preferred: CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker, microservices architecture, message queues, integration certifications
