Senior Planning Engineer

About the role

Wood is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to lead consolidated planning initiatives for the SRF project in Musandam, Oman. The role will optimise project plans, support profitability and ensure seamless coordination across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full planning and reporting cycle from engineering through procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Validate schedule alignment with contractual requirements, develop execution versions and maintain project control procedures.
• Prepare periodic progress reports, update schedule revisions and highlight deviations or critical path issues.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to gather schedule inputs and ensure accurate schedule preparation.
• Conduct schedule risk analysis and communicate findings to management.
• Align milestones with third‑party deliveries, material/equipment availability and IFC drawings.
• Monitor subcontractor manpower and identify constraints affecting construction activities.
• Lead daily construction meetings to assess schedule impacts and implement mitigation actions.
• Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to maintain schedule integrity.

Required profile

• Significant experience in onshore oil and gas projects, both brownfield and greenfield.
• Proven ability to work in multi‑disciplinary environments and manage complex project schedules.
• Senior‑level expertise with a strong focus on delivering optimal project plans.
