Senior Quantity Surveyor Engineer

About the role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor Engineer will manage the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate cost control and timely invoicing. This role works closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to resolve financial issues and support project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare invoice payments for projects and subcontractors, addressing any financial discrepancies.
• Provide budgetary cost advice for all work elements and measure repair costs for defective or unused works.
• Develop detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) with specifications and pricing, securing consultant and client approval.
• Compare subcontractor and client quantity take‑offs to ensure compatibility and identify conflicts.
• Generate productivity reports for in‑house labor wages.
• Survey quantities for new claims, variations, and owner requests to determine appropriate payments.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Contracts to evaluate offers and prepare purchase lists.
• Prepare scheduled BOQ based on site progress and assist in final BOQ/invoice preparation.
• Draft and review correspondence with consultants or clients, obtaining QS manager approval.
• Prepare cost breakdowns for variations, negotiate with clients/consultants, and evaluate subcontractor variations.
• Manage final account settlement with clients and subcontractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in quantity surveying or related construction finance roles.
• Strong teamwork, analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
