Team Leader, Hydrocarbon Accounting & Reporting

About the role

The Team Leader, Hydrocarbon Accounting & Reporting will head the hydrocarbon accounting function at OQ8, ensuring accurate measurement, allocation and reporting of hydrocarbon volumes. The role supports OQ8’s operational optimisation, loss control and mass‑balance initiatives while leading a dedicated team of professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the engineering hydrocarbon accounting process across production facilities.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of hydrocarbon data in line with industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to validate and optimise measurement systems and instrumentation.
• Prepare daily, monthly and ad‑hoc production and inventory reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyse production data to identify loss, optimisation opportunities and margin performance.
• Oversee refinery mass‑balance processes, reconcile material flows and maintain high‑quality data in ERP and reconciliation tools.
• Administer procurement and sales contracts related to hydrocarbon accounting.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and maintain databases for deferment and loss analysis.
• Provide training, development and performance assessment for team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hydrocarbon accounting, mass‑balance analysis and refinery operations.
• Strong understanding of measurement systems, data reconciliation and ERP environments.
• Ability to lead a technical team and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on production optimisation and loss control.
