Welding Engineer – Process & Fabrication Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Welding Engineer to lead the development and control of welding processes for offshore and on‑shore fabrication projects. The role combines technical expertise in welding standards with hands‑on support in the fabrication yard to ensure high‑quality welds and compliance with international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Welding Qualification Records (WQTR).
• Ensure all welding activities comply with applicable codes and standards such as AWS, ASME, API, ISO and DNV.
• Select appropriate welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW) based on material and application requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to supervisors and welders on welding techniques, pre‑heat, interpass temperature, post‑weld heat treatment (PWHT) and consumable control.
• Support fabrication activities including fit‑up, welding, repair welding and distortion control.
• Assist in resolving production issues, non‑conformities and coordinate welding during trial assemblies and offshore module fabrication.

Required profile

• Proven experience in welding engineering within fabrication or offshore environments.
• Strong knowledge of international welding codes and standards.
• Ability to interpret and apply welding procedures and qualification records.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work closely with production teams.
