Welding Inspector

About the role

We are looking for a Welding Inspector to ensure welding quality and structural integrity on offshore assets such as rigs, pipelines, platforms and FPSOs. The role requires strict compliance with project specifications, international standards and safety guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), welder qualifications, material traceability and inspection/test plans before work starts.
• Monitor fit‑up, root, hot, fill and cap welding passes at defined hold and witness points.
• Validate welding parameters including current, voltage, travel speed, inter‑pass temperature and heat input.
• Conduct visual inspections to detect defects such as undercut, porosity, cracks, lack of fusion and dimensional deviations.
• Coordinate and evaluate non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods – visual testing (VT), magnetic particle testing (MT), penetrant testing (PT), ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), phased‑array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) and time‑of‑flight diffraction (TOFD) – and review test reports.
• Manage non‑conformances by raising non‑conformance reports (NCRs), approving repair procedures and witnessing re‑work.
