Welding Supervisor - Production

About the role

The Welding Supervisor will lead day‑to‑day welding activities on the shop floor, ensuring that all structural welding work is performed safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise structural welding (jackets, topsides, decks) and oversee fit‑up and joint preparation.
• Ensure welding is executed according to approved WPS, drawings, and weld maps.
• Coordinate with the planning team to follow daily/weekly work plans.
• Prepare materials, consumables, equipment and allocate qualified welders to tasks.
• Monitor manpower productivity, track progress (joints completed, inch‑dia, tonnage) and address delays.
• Work closely with QA/QC inspectors for fit‑up, visual and NDT inspections, and manage defect rectification.
• Control the handling, storage and usage of electrodes, wires and gases.
• Maintain welding machines in good condition and enforce HSE hot‑work permits, fire prevention and safe welding practices.
• Liaise with planning, QA/QC, stores and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising welding teams in an industrial production environment.
• Strong knowledge of welding procedures, drawings and quality inspection processes.
• Ability to manage resources, allocate work based on skill levels and monitor productivity.
• Commitment to safety standards and HSE compliance.
