Assistant Loss Prevention Manager

About the role

The Assistant Loss Prevention Manager supports the daily operations of the security and loss prevention department at a luxury hotel. The role focuses on protecting assets, guests, and employees while maintaining compliance with legal and procedural requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Engineering with fire prevention programs and emergency preparedness.
• Conduct hazard and risk assessments, including quarterly OSHA/Safety audits and incident tracking.
• Develop and maintain shutdown procedures and ensure proper key control throughout the property.
• Create monthly checklists for CCTV equipment, alarmed doors, and duress alarms to verify functionality.
• Perform regular patrols covering interior and exterior areas, inspecting recording systems.
• Monitor and respond to unusual activities, handling complaints and resolving conflicts.
• Oversee loss prevention operations such as patrols, emergency response, investigations, and the shipping/receiving process.
• Guide the Accident Prevention Committee and manage the first‑aid program for guests.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least three years of security/loss‑prevention experience, OR a two‑year degree in Criminal Justice (or related field) with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations.
• Ability to maintain accurate logs, certifications and legal documentation.

Required skills

• Operation and maintenance of CCTV and alarm systems.
• Key control and electronic lock management.
• Conducting OSHA safety audits and hazard assessments.
• Fire prevention and emergency preparedness procedures.
