Assistant Manager – Funds Transfer

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Funds Transfer oversees the daily operations of the payments and funds transfer function, ensuring that all transactions are processed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with regulatory and internal standards. The role supports the Manager – Funds Transfer in maintaining a secure, efficient, and scalable payments environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day funds transfer and payments processing, guaranteeing adherence to approved turnaround and cut‑off times.
• Review and authorize all transactions before end‑of‑day, monitoring for errors, exceptions, and unusual activity.
• Manage reconciliation of suspense accounts and monitor Nostro outstanding payments, investigating and resolving differences promptly.
• Ensure compliance with Central Bank of Oman regulations, internal policies, and risk requirements, maintaining maker‑checker and segregation‑of‑duties controls.
• Identify operational risks and control gaps, recommend corrective actions, and support audit and compliance activities.
• Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to increase straight‑through processing and operational resilience.
• Provide coverage during staff shortages, peak periods, and critical situations, escalating significant issues as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in funds transfer, payments processing, or related banking operations.
• Demonstrated supervisory or team‑lead experience with strong performance‑management skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of banking regulations, especially Central Bank of Oman guidelines.
• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail for transaction review and reconciliation.
• Strong communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders, auditors, and compliance teams.
