Database Specialist

About the role

The Database Specialist will design, implement, and maintain critical database environments across multiple platforms. You will ensure high availability, performance, and security for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases supporting ERP and reporting solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server (multiple versions) and PostgreSQL databases in production and development.
• Provide basic administration for Oracle databases.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply tuning and indexing improvements.
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Support cloud‑hosted database instances, optimizing cost, availability, and security.
• Design, develop, and optimize stored procedures, functions, views, and complex SQL queries.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines using tools such as SSIS and ensure data integrity across systems.
• Collaborate with ERP teams, developers, and cybersecurity to resolve incidents and implement security best practices.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and support audits and compliance reviews.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration.
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL in production environments.
• Basic knowledge of Oracle database administration.
• Familiarity with cloud database platforms and cost‑optimization.
• Strong background in performance monitoring, query tuning, and indexing.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Ability to support ERP systems and data‑warehouse integrations.
• Willingness to provide after‑hours support when required.
