Engineering Coordinator

About the role

The Engineering Coordinator will lead the implementation of technical standards for maintenance engineering, ensuring alignment with the Maintenance Master Plan and Vale's asset reliability goals. This role drives systematic follow‑up, evaluation of maintenance results, and generation of actions to sustain performance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deploy maintenance strategies, standards, and best practices across the asset portfolio.
• Coordinate engineering studies, CPIA analyses, and HIRA‑based strategies for critical assets.
• Manage the Maintenance Engineering budget (USD 3.6M) and sustaining investment portfolio (USD 3.0M), monitoring performance against targets.
• Lead the development and optimization of maintenance plans, shutdown campaigns, and material/component strategies.
• Ensure compliance with international and national quality, HSE, and risk‑management standards.
• Oversee the organization structure, recruit and develop qualified staff, and drive team performance.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in maintenance engineering or asset reliability.
• Strong ability to set objectives, manage performance, and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in budgeting, cost control, and investment portfolio management.
• Knowledge of HIRA, CPIA, and regulatory compliance in an industrial setting.
