Flow Controller I – Baggage Handling Operations

About the role

The Flow Controller I ensures smooth baggage movement across designated BHS (Baggage Handling System) zones at a busy airport. You will monitor conveyor lines, clear jams, and coordinate with SCADA operators to keep luggage flowing on time.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor baggage flow and identify potential congestion or irregularities.
• Clear bag jams safely, minimizing downtime.
• Respond immediately to system faults, alarms, and operational calls.
• Support continuous baggage flow to avoid short‑shipped bags and ensure on‑time delivery.
• Maintain constant communication with SCADA operators and follow instructions accurately.
• Report incidents, jams, abnormalities, and delays to the control room.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) when required.
• Keep work areas clean, perform regular technical cleaning and FOD control.
• Assist maintenance technicians during preventive and corrective activities.
• Provide accurate shift handover reports and contribute to operational reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–4 years experience in industrial, logistics or airport operations (BHS experience preferred).
• Valid driving licence (preferred/required based on site needs).
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Understanding of conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic English reading, writing and speaking skills.
• Teamwork, coordination and basic computer literacy.
• Physical ability to lift, walk, bend and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in noisy, hot, continuously moving environments.
