Freelance Compliance Analyst for AI Projects

About the role

We are looking for a freelance Compliance Analyst to support AI‑related projects. You will work remotely on a project‑by‑project basis, helping leading tech companies test, evaluate and improve their AI systems through rigorous regulatory analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evaluate rule‑application scenarios by reviewing compliance artifacts (advertisements, disclosures, policies) against specific regulations and citing the exact subsections.
• Write sanctions‑alert disposition cases with structured false‑positive reasoning and escalation documentation.
• Build compliance testing scenarios, including sample selection, test design, findings documentation and examiner‑ready conclusion memos.
• Develop policy‑gap identification cases where internal policies are silent, contradictory, or outdated relative to regulatory requirements.
• Document all test cases with verified regulatory citations, ensuring no approximations or fabricated references.

Required profile

• Degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in compliance, audit, legal, risk management or financial services.
• Current or recent experience in regulatory or financial‑crime roles, with a habit of precise citation of regulatory subsections.
• Professional certifications such as CRCM, CAMS or equivalent are a strong plus; former regulatory examiner or inspector status is also valued.
• Strong written English (C1 level or higher).

Required skills

• Ability to interpret regulations and identify exact applicable subsections.
• Proficiency in drafting structured compliance documentation.
