Internal Audit and Ethics Manager

About the role

The Internal Audit and Ethics Manager leads the Internal Audit and Compliance function, providing independent assurance and advisory services to the business. Reporting to the Audit Committee/FINCO, the role develops a risk‑based audit plan, oversees outsourced audit providers, and conducts ad‑hoc compliance reviews and fraud investigations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a risk‑based internal audit plan aligned with the company’s Risk Register.
• Define and uphold the Internal Audit Charter, ensuring proper authority, responsibility and scope.
• Manage outsourced (co‑sourced) internal audit service providers, including performance, quality, budget and timelines.
• Plan, prepare and oversee all audit engagements, including on‑site visits and fieldwork support for smelter operations.
• Participate in risk assessments and update the Risk Register to reflect business, operational and technological changes.
• Review and approve detailed audit programs, ensuring effective coverage of major risks and process owners.
• Report significant audit findings, control weaknesses and corrective action plans to the CEO, EXCO and line management.
• Maintain a follow‑up tracker for open audit observations and issue quarterly status reports to FINCO.
• Provide constructive feedback to outsourced auditors and coordinate all internal audit activities.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead an internal audit and compliance function.
• Experience developing risk‑based audit plans and maintaining audit charters.
• Capability to manage outsourced audit service providers and evaluate their performance.
• Strong experience reporting audit findings to senior management and audit committees.
• Knowledge of conducting compliance reviews and supporting fraud/irregularity investigations.
