Lead Technical/Process Safety Engineer

About the role

The Lead Technical/Process Safety Engineer will develop and deploy a risk‑based Process Safety Management (PSM) system for Oman LNG’s plant complex. This senior position provides leadership, builds a strong safety culture and ensures compliance with increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve the Asset Integrity & Process Safety Management (AI‑PSM) program, covering all 22 mandatory requirements.
• Ensure all process‑safety hazards are managed to ALARP and produce ALARP demonstrations.
• Provide process‑safety guidance to Operations, Engineering and Maintenance teams.
• Lead hazard identification, risk analysis, HEMP‑LOPA bow‑tie studies and major incident investigations.
• Develop, monitor and report on KPIs for AI‑PSM, driving corrective actions and management buy‑in.
• Own the Process Safety Assessment (PSA) program for process and utility facilities, including planning, follow‑up and reporting.
• Implement the Technical Authority Framework (TAF) and ensure integration with competency development.
• Drive Management of Change (MoC) and other critical safety processes in line with AI‑PSM requirements.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in process safety within an industrial or oil‑and‑gas environment.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory standards and best practices for process safety management.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and foster a safety‑first culture.
• Strong analytical skills for risk assessment, KPI tracking and incident investigation.
