Lead Technologist Engineer - Utilities

About the role

The Lead Technologist Engineer – Utilities will be responsible for the design, operation and optimisation of utility systems that support industrial and Oil & Gas facilities. This full‑time, on‑site position leads technical assessments of power, water, steam and compressed‑air utilities to ensure reliable and efficient performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee design, operation and optimisation of utility systems (power generation, water treatment, steam and compressed‑air).
• Lead technical assessments and reliability analyses of all utility assets.
• Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance with cross‑functional teams.
• Troubleshoot complex utility issues and implement improvement projects in line with safety and regulatory standards.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and performance metrics.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians and support HSE initiatives.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and external stakeholders to meet current and future facility demands.

Required profile

• Strong background in utilities engineering with experience in oil & gas or heavy‑industrial environments.
• Knowledge of process safety, HSE standards and regulatory compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage multiple projects and communicate effectively in English.
• Familiarity with ISO quality systems and continuous‑improvement practices; experience in Oman or the GCC is a plus.
