Production Facility Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Production Facility Electrical Engineer ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems that support manufacturing operations. This role provides technical leadership, drives reliability improvements, and guarantees compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and engineering support for electrical systems across production facilities.
• Maintain safe and reliable operation of HV, MV, and LV distribution networks, including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, motors, UPS, battery chargers, and emergency generators.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to boost equipment reliability and plant availability.
• Lead troubleshooting, root‑cause failure analysis (RCFA) and corrective actions for critical equipment failures.
• Monitor equipment performance, identify reliability improvement opportunities, and reduce risk.
• Support start‑up, commissioning, shutdown, turnaround, and expansion projects.
• Maintain and update electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams, protection studies, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, LOTO, PTW, and regulatory requirements.
• Define maintenance procedures, inspection plans, and operating instructions for electrical assets.
• Manage electrical contractors and vendors, ensuring safe execution and adherence to standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reliability data in the CMMS.
• Mentor maintenance personnel and junior engineers and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of industrial power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
• Experience with high‑, medium‑ and low‑voltage electrical equipment and protection systems.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor maintenance teams.

Required skills

• HV, MV, LV electrical equipment (switchgear, transformers, MCCs, motors, VFDs, UPS, generators).
• Power system studies, protection coordination, and fault analysis.
• Reliability engineering and preventive/predictive maintenance methodologies.
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) procedures.
• Use of CMMS for maintenance records and reliability data.
