Project Engineer – Electrical (Muscat, Oman)

About the role

We are seeking a Project Engineer (Electrical) to lead and coordinate electrical works for utility projects in Muscat. The role involves monitoring project plans, reviewing specifications, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and follow up daily, weekly and monthly project plans, tracking timelines and activities of contractors and consultants.
• Organise and conduct project review meetings with contractors and consultants.
• Check and validate consultants’ and contractors’ invoices for each project.
• Verify electrical drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Visit sites to monitor progress, installation of electrical equipment and report discrepancies.
• Coordinate with civil engineers to align civil works with electrical specifications.
• Manage variations, time‑extension cases and strive to minimise change orders.
• Ensure HSE plans are implemented, monitor compliance and prepare recovery actions for any inconsistencies.
• Apply Asset Management, QHSE and IT security standards (ISO 55001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 27001) throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical utilities and project management.
• Strong knowledge of Omani government and OETC regulations.
• Proven ability to manage contracts, invoices and variation orders.
