Skilled General Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our hotel facilities team in Nizwa, Oman. The role involves responding quickly to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all building systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate solutions promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, mechanical rooms, and building systems.
• Inspect, clean, lubricate, and repair air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic/electronic equipment.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves and utility controls for safety.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies, and requisition as needed.
• Carry out minor painting, drywall, wood‑trim repairs, and complete clean‑up of work areas.
• Replace light bulbs, AC filters, electrical switches, outlets, and program televisions.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler maintenance.
• Use lockout/tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Document daily activities and hand over information to the next shift.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and carpentry.
• Ability to follow safety policies, wear appropriate protective equipment and use lockout/tagout.
• Good communication skills to interact with guests and team members.
• Physical ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lb and perform manual tasks.
