Engineering Supervisor

About the role

The Engineering Supervisor will lead the maintenance team at our hotel in Nizwa, ensuring all equipment, tools and facilities operate safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and supporting guest service requests while upholding Marriott’s high standards of safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances and equipment.
• Calibrate controls, gauges, meters and verify accuracy.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves; conduct fire‑pump and generator run tests.
• Inspect fire sprinkler valves, alarm systems and complete life‑safety checklists.
• Manage inventory, order parts, maintain purchase‑order logs and stock supplies.
• Enter work‑related information using computer systems and operate power lifts.
• Assist in developing disaster‑response protocols and respond to guest repair requests.
• Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation and employee coaching.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum 2 years of related engineering or maintenance experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to follow safety policies, maintain confidentiality and present a professional appearance.

Required skills

• Calibration of controls, gauges and meters.
• Operation of power lifts.
• Fire‑pump testing.
• Generator testing.
• Fire‑sprinkler valve inspection.
• Alarm system inspection.
