Water Resource Management Officer – Civil Engineer

About the role

The Water Resource Management Officer (Civil Engineer) will support the planning, technical design and implementation of water‑resource infrastructure for Phase 1 of the ARISE Programme in Salalah, Oman. Working under close supervision, the officer will ensure that all designs comply with GGGI policies, Omani standards and environmental requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in engineering assessments, preparation of technical specifications, drawings and cost estimates for water‑resource projects.
• Collaborate with the Chief of Party, Regional Director, Program Implementation Unit and local stakeholders to produce timely deliverables.
• Ensure infrastructure designs meet applicable standards, environmental safeguards and project work plans.
• Maintain regular communication with the PIU team, MENA Regional Support Team and Omani authorities.
• Monitor updates to civil‑engineering policies and regulations and incorporate relevant changes into project designs.
• Support strategic reviews of the country programme to keep it aligned with evolving priorities.

Required profile

• Civil engineering background with experience in water‑resource infrastructure design.
• Familiarity with Omani government standards and environmental regulations.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and local counterparts.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
