About the role
We are seeking an Instrumentation Sales Engineer to join our Muscat‑based trading firm. The role focuses on driving sales of instrumentation and control products across oil & gas, power, water treatment and manufacturing sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet targets for instrumentation products such as pressure, temperature, flow, level sensors, analyzers and control systems.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in oil & gas, chemical, power, water treatment, food & beverage and manufacturing industries.
- Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for clients and consultants.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, distributors and partners, providing pre‑sales technical assistance and after‑sales support.
- Prepare accurate quotations, proposals and tenders in coordination with technical and commercial teams.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments to inform business strategy.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement and logistics to ensure timely project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain records of sales activities, customer interactions and pipeline forecasts using CRM tools.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics or a related technical discipline.
- 2–5+ years of experience in technical sales of industrial instrumentation or automation products.
- Strong knowledge of industrial process control and measurement technologies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Self‑motivated, results‑oriented and able to work independently or within a team.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Required skills
- Pressure, temperature, flow, level sensors and analyzers.
- Control systems and industrial process measurement technologies.
- Technical drawing interpretation.
- MS Office and CRM systems (ERP familiarity a plus).
- Automation systems such as PLC, SCADA and DCS.
- Familiarity with major instrumentation brands: Yokogawa, Emerson, ABB, Endress+Hauser, Siemens.
- Understanding of ATEX, IECEx and SIL standards.
