Operations Manager

About the role

ACWA Operations is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the operation department of its Sohar 3 IPP plant in Oman. The role is responsible for overseeing power generation and water desalination activities, ensuring safety, quality, and cost‑effectiveness while meeting production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and align the Operations department strategy with the overall plant strategy.
• Report regularly to the Plant General Manager on operational performance, challenges, and mitigation actions.
• Contribute to budget preparation, monitor financial performance, and drive corrective actions for variances.
• Plan and schedule daily and monthly plant operations to meet production goals.
• Lead all aspects of power generation and water production, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated operational issues to minimise downtime.
• Review daily operation reports and ensure compliance with contractual, quality, quantity, cost, and HSE standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading an operations department in a power generation or water desalination environment.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, financial monitoring, and performance analysis.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and cross‑functional teams.
• Focus on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
