Senior Design Engineer – Cable Design

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our technical team and deliver competitive cable designs that meet both OCI’s capabilities and customer requirements. You will act as the technical bridge between sales, customers, and manufacturing, ensuring accurate specifications and timely responses.

Key responsibilities

• Support the sales team with prompt technical responses to customer enquiries.
• Interpret customer requirements, design cables accordingly, and align solutions with OCI product range.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), perform fictitious calculations, and verify manufacturing values.
• Create inter‑company cable designs, offers, and costings in CA.
• Review and update raw‑material specifications and provide technical data sheets, drawings, and deviation lists.
• Allocate enquiries within the team, monitor status, and ensure final item codes and instructions are documented.
• Migrate final CA item codes to SAP, clear sales orders for manufacturing, and propose DTC opportunities.
• Maintain cable datasheets, cross‑sectional drawings, and a clarification/deviation database.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 6+ years (or 8+ years with a diploma) of experience as a power cable design engineer.
• Strong understanding of IEC and BS cable standards and GCC utility specifications.
• Proven ability to work with customers and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
