Sous Chef – Luxury Resort

About the role

We are seeking a Sous Chef to join the culinary team at Six Senses Zighy Bay, a luxury resort in Oman. The role supports the Executive Chef in delivering innovative, sustainable dining experiences that reflect the brand’s focus on wellness, local sensitivity and global sensibility.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously refresh menus and wine lists to align with Six Senses’ culinary philosophy and sustainability standards.
• Implement purchasing practices that meet nutrition and sustainability guidelines.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff to adopt a cost‑focused mindset while maintaining high quality.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, statutory, safety, and brand standards, including LQA requirements.
• Oversee budgeting, reporting, and documentation for the kitchen operation.
• Maintain guest satisfaction by adhering to service standards and responding to feedback.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma; hospitality diploma or degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a full‑service kitchen within a luxury hotel or comparable setting.
• Strong leadership ability and experience working in multicultural teams.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to live in a remote location for extended periods.

• Understanding of farm‑to‑table concepts.
• Alcohol awareness certification.
• Valid food safety/handler certification.
